The Big Ram Distribution Centre
Bath Demolition was awarded the contract for the asbestos removal and demolition of The Big Ram Distribution Centre. The works included extensive licensed asbestos removal and demolition of a 65,000m2 Warehouse and associated office building.
The building had a number of systems within it that we identified for potential reuse and so prior to commencement we carried out an extensive marketing exercise of these items in order to identify end users rather than recycling.
This exercise proved worthwhile and a number of these systems were able to be removed for re-use prior to the main demolition commencing. This provided value for us, the client, and the end user of the items. The project also included the decommissioning of a fuel installation comprising of pumps and above ground diesel tanks.
The majority of the structures were clad in asbestos cement; however we still managed to recycle 92% of materials generated by demolition.
