Bath Demolition were proud to be selected to carry out the demolition works to enable England’s first large scale zero carbon development, for Barratt Homes and the Homes and Communities Agency who are dedicated to providing a benchmark development.
Every aspect of development from the demolition of redundant buildings through to the rehoming of animals on the site, the design of the new homes, recycling facilities and the creation of allotments all considered the environmental implications.
A detailed strategy for the re-use and recycling of materials arising from the demolition was first drawn up and agreed with Barratt Homes and their sustainability consultants and this was closely monitored with formal monthly reports.
Our carbon footprint was minimised by careful planning of vehicle movements on and off site, through use of local recycling facilities, careful route planning and utilising public transport for operatives wherever possible in order to pave the way for this truly sustainable development.
