Bath Demolition were awarded the contract for the demolition of 70 split level maisonettes on a sloping site in Bristol for Bristol City Council.

Sustainability was high on the agenda with a view to re-using as many items as possible. In order to achieve this we utilised two local free-enterprise projects with whom we identified elements of the structures that they would have a potential re-use for by carrying out a full pre-demolition audit of the site. Bath Demolition carefully removed all of the items identified and assisted with the collection/delivery of the items. We had nearby sensitive receptors and also employed out of hours security for the duration of the works.

Through the re-use of materials and the processing of suitable materials for future re-use on site we were able to prevent 99% of materials from being sent to landfill.

Bristol City Council planned to develop the area to create affordable housing, where people and wildlife coexist in a beautiful landscape setting.
