Bath Demolition were awarded Principle Contractor for the demolition of Christ College, Cheltenham, following the successful completion of the client’s previous project, St Thomas Moore’s Church
The project presented many challenges including an extensive asbestos strip, all asbestos containing materials were removed before the soft strip of the redundant buildings began. All of the buildings were then demolished and all associated foundations were removed with any arising suitable hardcore material being crushed and stockpiled on site.
All these works were carefully planned and the implementation of vibration monitoring equipment ensured that works were carried out maintaining a live sewer line that ran through the middle of the site servicing the surrounding third parties.
All other waste which arose from the demolition works was removed from site and disposed of at a licensed landfill or waste re-cycling centre.
